Do you provide speakers for organizations?
Yes! We do provide experienced beekeepers to give talks to most organizations, from school groups to information tables at community events. Contact one of our officers for more information.
I have a swarm of honey bees on my property. What can I do?
Many of our members offer removal of healthy (unsprayed) swarms and some even remove established hives that have taken up residence in buildings. We do not deal with wasps or hornets, nor do we provide extermination services.
I think I want to be a beekeeper. What’s the next step?
Join the NRVBA! We are a group that includes beekeepers with decades of experience who are willing to answer your questions and help you achieve your goals. Each spring, our association also offers an annual two-day beginner’s course that includes classroom instruction and a field session at the Virginia Tech apiary.
When and where are NRVBA meetings?
NRVBA meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m., in the community room of the Montgomery County Health and Human Services Building, 210 Pepper Street South, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
Is there a beekeeping association nearer to me?
