January 10th Meeting- Lessons extracted from EAS 2018

The Eastern Apicultural Society (EAS) 2018 conference was held this past August at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.  The six-day event included dozens of lectures, workshops, and international speakers.  NRVBA member Rudy Taylor attended the conference and will present immediately useful information including tips for efficiency, making money, overwintering success, and keeping bees healthy.

Please join us on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 6:30 pm at the Montgomery County Health and Human Services Building at 210 Pepper St., Christiansburg to hear Rudy’s presentation.

-The Buffalo Jack Raffle: Please note: there will be no intermission so buy your tickets before the meeting or, quietly, any time during the meeting in the back of the room. Items will include:

  • 8-frame deep box (assembled and painted), with assembled frames (no foundation)
  • 10 assembled deep, wedge-top frames, plus 10 deep, crimp-wired wax foundation sheets (not installed in frames)
  • 1 dozen dripless, invertible, plastic 1-lb honey jars
  • 10-frame ventilated inner cover
  • 16 oz jar of Honey B Healthy

-Close of formal meeting and, for many, the beginning of the “real” meeting. Join in for socializing, refreshments, and a time for asking questions.  Please consider bringing a snack or beverage to share.
